The stock GM 6.5 Liter Turbo Diesel intake system often leaves one asking for more. The units prior to 1997 had frequent problems with the airbox sealing improperly due to lack of care taken when one reassembles the box after servicing the air filter. Even with the 1997 or later air boxes care should be taken when servicing the filter to avoid unfiltered air ingestion. The original stock filter that was on my truck used the same size and often same part number as my Corvette, which is a 5.7 Liter normally aspirated [non-turbo] and certainly must flow less air than a 6.5 Liter Turbocharged engine, so the first step was getting a filter with more surface area. We have been very pleased with the prototypes and production systems are they currently "in production" . Check back in a few... The Cool Air intake for the GM Duramax 6600 Diesel is now available.
